Event Description

Our films and talks series continues with an exotic double bill. Scent from Sri Lanka combines two filming trips to the country, one for Rainforest Rescue International (RRI) and one for Quest International. RRI was set up in 1998 to help rescue some of the rainforest areas of the world by working with the logging companies to save rare species of flora and fauna by changing their logging methods and linking islands of rainforest together with corridors. The project has proved a great success. Quest International were invited by RRI to sample the smells of the Sri Lankan rainforest. An international team of "sniffer scientists" went in search of new "notes" and to capture these exotic scents.Going to Guyana documents Robin's trip to Guyana accompanying The Eden Project's Director of Education and Curator of the Humid Tropics Biome. This footage has never been seen before and by the end of the night you will feel almost like you have explored the country yourself - but without the leeches!
