A guided tour of the Koanga Institute, located within the Kotare Village.
We'll give you a guided tour and explain our seed saving gardens, and the process that we go through to save heritage seeds. We'll show you our compost and mineral recycling systems, our heritage orchard and show you the plans we have for developing our site. There will be a BioIntensive Gardening demonstration - this is the method we use for high quality production - it is an extremely efficient productive system, which ensures that the soil is regenerated for long term sustainability.
Afternoon tea provided, and guests will have the opportunity to make purchases from our store (which is usually an exclusively online store).
The Koanga Institute is part of a Kotare Village, a developing permaculture village. There will be an introduction talk given, explaining the basics of how our communiity is being developed using the Community Land Trust model of Land ownership. You'll get to hear about the social, legal and environmental structures that we're developing our village with, and a chance to ask questions.
