 food for beneficial insects

Last winter, a nursing student joined us at Grandview Community Garden for a few hours,  She sowed some tiny seeds of alyssum around the lemon tree. Now the alyssum is flowering, and will be attracting beneficial insects like tiny wasps and hoverflies to the garden to drink the nectar and eat the pollen. We hope these beneficial insects will stay in the garden and lay their eggs on caterpillars and aphids.
