Hi all
In the last two years I have planted a bunch of fruit trees, and while we do have some local bee activity in the spring, I would love it if someone had a hive or two that they wanted to pop in the bottom corner of my property.
We only have a hectare, and although I love the buzz of busy workers, I would really rather someone else looks after the hive.
We have plenty of fruit trees, a few natives, and flowers, two nosy dogs, a dozen baby chickens, and lovey clean fresh air.
So if anyone has a hive or two in need of a home in the beautiful Paparimu Valley*, please let me know.
*Paparimu Valley is just South of the Hunua Ranges, along the Bombay hills.
Cheers
Tara

What about placing some Bumble Bee Nesting Boxes around the property to encourage bumble bee populations. Or placing a few Solitary Bee Hives to encourage non-aggressive Native Solitary Bees, at http://www.creativewoodcraft.co.nz/bees
We offer Leafcutting Bee Cells/Cocoons for purchase. Great for summer pollination!!
You could contact your local bee club, there may be someone looking for a site for their bees.
