We made a big 1.5 m x 1m raised planter of composted earth (to make it easier to avoid digging too far!) and planted the tamarillo, it has flourished.

Now I need space for two tomato plants and I put them in with it this morning, but thought I better get some advice. The tomatos are small enough to move again, only about 10" tall.

Is this going to be bad for either of them? I am feeding both the same tomato-rite fertilizer anyway, and keeping them close will save water.

  • I can't see a problem. Tamarillos are a member of the tomato family anyway and so have similar water and fertiliser needs.
