Strawberry - Pests

I am having trouble with the slaters eating my strawberries.  Can anyone help me with a cure, preferably a safe chemical free option, so I can continue to scoff my strawberries and not the slaters.  This is the second year I have grown them and had no problem last year with slaters.  The strawberry bed in raised and I live in hawkes Bay.  There are a few slugs munching on them too, but the slaters are the real problem.

    • Thanks, that makes sense, I will clean up the debris and see how that goes.  Awesome thanks again!

    • if you put some old wood nearby the slaters might hide under it and you could catch them in the daytime. deliberate debris lol

    • Yes i dont use a mulch around my strawberries so no slaters, but i do get a bit of dirt on the fruit though.
