sweet corn leaf damage

My sweet corn plants have unusual shredded damage to the leaves that I don't recognise
coming from snails/slugs. Can anyone shed light on this? I'm wondering if it is from earwigs.
It's starting to look pretty awful so I'll probably need to put some more seeds down.

corn can often survive this when its small, leave it awhile it may recover ok, def put some slugbait out

Yay, it's great to hear that! I spent time 'hilling' the corn today. It's been great
weather for transplanting in Auckland so I've planted out some more tomato and
beetroot seedlings. And watermelon, not going to hold my breath there, never have
I had any joy with melons. Great germination results this year, so that's a positive
start. Will remember the slugbait!

Use Quash for slugs - iron based product, snails are poisoned by iron but it doesn't affect pets or the hedgehogs that eat the dead snails. Blitzem has killed a lot of hedgies.
