The annual NZ Tree Crops Association Waikato Branch Tree Sale is on the 7th July this year - a great place to pick up some more unusual trees, shrubs and plants for your garden, or to sell some of your own excess seedlings.  For more info see the Ooooby events page

Hi TK

There are regular gardening demos & events at the site - just about every week, mostly advertised on the WIC Community Gardening pages http://ooooby.ning.com/group/wic/forum/topics/community-gardening (newest stuff on the last page).

If you prefer you could give Clare/Tim a ring and go on their email list to be notified of events.

Would love to help & learn.

But unfortunately have other things happening.

Please keep us posted for next time.

Cheers!

Hi TK, Jeremy would know for sure but he's a little busy with a newborn right now. I am fairly certain they are not organically grown. Cheers, Catherine

Kiaora Catherine,

Are they organically grown or conventional?

Thanx in advance.

Community Fruit Harvesting has been offered the chance to pick the last of an apple crop at a commercial orchard this Saturday, 9 June between 9am and 3pm. The fruit will be shared with foodbanks, charities and schools (although pickers will be able to reward themselves with a little of the spoils too).

We need pickers, boxes (preferably banana or apple) and transport for fruit (trailers, utes, vans or a spare truck). Bring your gumboots along!

We’re looking to give a lot of the fruit to schools so if you know of a school (or any other charity organisation) that can take and use a couple of hundred kilos of fruit, please let us know.

Please email Jeremy Briggs on pickfruithamilton@gmail.com to RSVP and for address details.

I need to buy a car....so in order to save some dosh, i have resolved to sell most of my beloved orchid collection :( I am also moving to Dunedin early next year, so that doesnt help either. Anyways, i have around 50-60 orchids that will soon be up for sale, alot of them rare and unusual, one offs. So please contact me for a list (in about a week i will have one), if you are interested. Prices will depend on the species/hybrid.

I will have some cuttings. Planning to prune in the next month. Have no Freyburg, but will have Monty's Surpise, plus other apples, plums, and Winter Nellis pear. Message me if you are interested and able to pick-up rurally.
