The site looked great Megan,
I just couldn't get there sorry, but well done anyway
Annette on the SBS bank stand at the Lake Hayes A&P Show today. The weather held out for us after the heavy rain yesterday. A few showers came in mid afternoon but otherwise a glorious sunny day.
We shared the space with the Japanese Friendship Society here in Queenstown, one of the many community groups that the SBS Bank supports.
Katherine and Neville also helped out and Robin was there in spirit - nearly all of the herbs were grown and donated by her, together with some silverbeet and leeks from Annette and self sown bay tree seedlings from Adrian and Colin's garden.
Thanks alot Neville, you've been very busy:)
Will take some photos of the newly mown orchard area and paths and post them here.
Here's the photo of the compost bins and I send an email out to everyone gardening at Gorge Rd to remind them about keeping the paths clear etc.
For those gardeners are here on ooooby, please remember to put fresh material into the bin closest to the shed. As the material breaks down, Neville has been transferring it across to the bins towards the main gate.
The pile of material in front of the bins is ready to use.
Hi Megan, Showing Cherryle around the gardens will be easier now that we have mown pathways, I spent the afternoon there mowing grass around the fruit trees, and mowing pathways. Thanks to Robin for leaving the lawn mower. Can we please remind plot holders to keep the pathways around their plots free of rubbish. Organic rubbish (weeds and stuff ) should go in the compost bins provided, and inorganic rubbish should be removed by the plot holder. Thanks.
Might just do that Megan - Be nice to touch base. Thanks for the invite
welcome Cherryle. If you're coming over to the A&P show this Saturday, drop into the SBS stand where we'll have a table with a small selection of herbs for sale. More of a profile raising exercise. Happy to show you around our Gorge Rd garden anytime you're over this way, just email us harvestgardensqt at gmail dot com to let us know in advance.
Nice to be here people - I am based in Roxburgh and look forward to hearing what goes on.
View of the gardens taken from the door of our shed.
A very tidy shed with new shelves courtesy of Owen who has also strimmed around the communal fruit trees
