Capsicums are actually a perennial. We (including me!) have a tendency to treat them as annuals. I personally won't be doing that any more - will shelter them over in the winter. Planting at the moment - beetroot, lettuce, spring onions, basil.
Soil - compost should be doing the trick, Helen. Does the garden get pretty dry there? I compost at the beginning of the season, then during growth time, I add liquid comfrey tea and worm wee. That;s pretty much it for me. Would love to hear what others are doing.
Hi Guys and Gals,

Ah ... mmm - it must be lack of TLC - any ideas on whats best to enhance the soil , i have been using bags of compost but perhaps it is lacking something else ....
Wow never seen parsnips like it Richard ..well done!!
Yes Lynn - Capsicums still small too, but interestingly tho the ones i left in as an experiment from last year and just cut back are doing better than the new ones planed this year and are first to have a flower !!!
Comment by Richard Watson on December 30, 2011 at 8:39am yer thanks Lynn,to think thats Nutty celery in front which is a bit more than waist height,it gives an idea how high the parsnip is
Wow Richard! That's one doozy parsnip crop!
Comment by Richard Watson on December 30, 2011 at 6:41am Hi Helen - I've had problems getting some of my capsicums up and running, and the egg plants, but other than those, everything is doing pretty well. Oh, a few tomato plants looking sad, most are terrific though. Will wait to see whether it's the bumper crop I had last year.
Hi everyone, Potatoes and tomatoes and mints doing really well, but not much else - seems to be a strange season , anyone agree ?? Or maybe it is just lack of tlc ..... cheers, Helen
Ooooo...gotta admin though, it's great for the garden! (at this stage, anyway...too much more will be a pain)
Rain rain go away....need to garden and get rid of the thriving weeds....
