Awesome! Great work Lynsey, looks great.
I'm getting onto that agenda item - updating our blog http://kaiotearo.blogspot.com/ with all our valley voice articles and a few photos.
It's by no means meant to duplicate or replace the oooby space - it's more about our external media stuff. Any photos or ideas welcome (or even if you have the urge to write a piece! Most welcome!).
Check it out at http://kaiotearo.blogspot.com/

I've cleared a few beds at the Orchard & the earth is rich & friable. Hope the weather is good for your Sunday workshop Charles and you get a good turnout.
A design modification will be necessary for the compost bin lid. It sags and holds water. The front staples gave out when I tipped the water off. A sloping lid with a rigid frame may be the answer.
Sorry I'm not available for the next working bee or pot luck, but will be free for the 17th July working bee.
the new compost bin has been built!
The white board is up in the secret garden with our job lists on, should guide the working bee tomorrow.
The garden workshop I was going to teach at the orchard today has been postponed till next weekend, so if anyone gets a chance to tidy the orchard this weekend or week, it would be awesome!
we are actually starting a community composting system at 'the orchard' site soon. this is pretty much across the road from the bottom of adams tce (next door to 225 Aro st). You should see a bin appear there this weekend, and from then you can start dropping your stuff off there. It would be great if you could cover the food scraps with mulch from the pile next to the bin after you empty it. I'll get back in touch when the bin is in place to see how you are getting on :)
I want to begin composting the food waste in our house. What is the physical address of this garden so I can leave stuff down for composting? I'm just on Adams Terrace, so I shouldn't be too far away! Cheers
Innermost Gardens is hosting a local food workshop this weekend.
check out our website for more information http://www.innermostgardens.org.nz/archives/550
In this workshop, Robina will use community facilitation methods to the goal of community scale food interdependence, based on successful models of localised food production in Aotearoa/NZ and in other parts of the world.
If you are keen to come then send us an email to RSVP
At some point very soon (over the next couple of weeks) I'll be working on our blog and updating all past Valley Voice articles and stories about us. If you have any photos of garden working bees and/or produce etc, it would be amazing if you could please email them to me so our blog can also be visually appealing. Message me to get my email.
PS also we're looking for a flatmate for our cosy home - if you know anyone, please pass on my details. Cheers :)
Thanks for the update and the long stakes Simon. Did you get any pumpkins & tomatoes for yourself? It's great that you're able to stay on for longer, and keep an eye on the steps. That garden is looking so good, thanks to sterling work of the group at large. None of the sites are easy!
