Seed Swap Table this Sunday 11-1 at the Innermost Mt Victoria Gardens (location details). Bring seeds that you have to swap in envelopes clearly labelled with as much information as you know about them e.g. harvest date, variety, location grown, etc.
Plus we will be in the garden from 10-1 planting a new under-story of wild flowers and herbs for the fruit trees. There will be a shared lunch at 1. Come along, plant some seeds, swap some seeds and enjoy a meal with us!
I have Quite a few tomato seedlings ready to go. Verity Subarctic these are said to be very early fruiting plants and tolerate cool weather I am in Ellerslie Auckland if anyone is interested> I am asking a dollar donation per plant as the donations go to the Christchurch members of a spiritual group I belong to. These donations help the members threw financial hardships they are experiencing from the earth quakes. I amso have plenty of other flower, herb, and veg seedlings on offer as well.
Comment by Stu Miller on September 7, 2011 at 3:03pm Hi there,
We are looking at establishing a native groundcover lawn at the front of our property in the hope of encouraging geckos and more birdlife into the garden.
Does anyone have any leptinella squalida or Pratia angulata plants that I can take a few clumps from?
Also any suggestions of other plants I can include would really be appreciated.
Thanks
Stu
Kia ora,
I am posting this on a few group's walls in the hopes of connecting with people in the Wellington area that are passionate about seed saving (and hopefully also seed breeding). I like the idea of getting together a loose network of people and sharing knowledge and ideas, etc. and of Wellington having its own supply of seeds from cultivars well suited to our unique climate!
I'm interested in finding people in Wellington who already have some knowledge and expertise in seed saving. I would love to hear from you or if you have ideas of people to contact, it'd be much appreciated.
Cheers
Matt
Comment by Kelly Ronayne on June 22, 2011 at 11:14am Anybody got any fruit or seed from a large Red Guava tree; I want to propagate a heap of them for a shelter belt. Preferably a healthy one growing in Auckland.
