Hi Sophie,

According to the MAF website the capsicum you are after is allowed in NZ, in fact it is already here. I found the seeds in a bottle of dried Espelette Peppers from SABATO but I did not buy it.

Hi Caroline,

Bilberries are just ancient blueberries. I have seen some gardens with them in Wairarapa several years ago.

Does anyone know if Bilberry is grown in NZ and if it is where it can be found? I have looked online but haven't been able to find it.

Yes, it really depends on the type of seed and its origin - essentially MAF (now MPI) do a 'risk profile' in terms of biosecurity, and low risk items are allowed in. The key is giving full information about what you are wanting to import

I have it an authority from someone who regularly imports seeds from elsewhere that maf requirements are not prohibitive. I have in my possession some personally imported custard apple seeds from some pacific island, which came in with MAF Approval.

Desperately seeking pepper seeds! Well maybe not desperately, but I would love some pretty please.

It's a particular kind of pepper that I'm seeking though: piment d'Espelette, from SW France. Not hot, but a key ingredient in my mamie's cooking.. my granddad grows oodles of them every year, but I suspect that MAF would be unimpressed if I asked him to post some seeds over!

I know it's a stab in the dark, but does anyone have any.. and if so, do you have any spare? :)

I am looking for a few seeds of Poppy - Fire Circle from Koanga if anyone has some please. I would order them directly but the postage is more than the packet of seeds and I don't need any others at the moment to make it a worthwhile order.

I am looking for ramsons. Does anyone have any. I can pay postage or swap for a variety of seeds.

Hey guys! This has been in the pipeline now for a number of months, so if you are keen to see a seed-savers group or society or whatever set up in the Hamilton and Waikato areas, please join and RSVP if you can come! We are looking at doing an afternoon mission :) Note, it is not a seed swap, this is a formal meeting.
