Hi Silja Baer.

Mine will flower soon so if yours doesn't then it's a male.  Thanks for the offer. We'll have to wait and see a bit longer I guess.

Hi Mercurious,

I have a cocktail kiwi plant but would not have a clue if it is male or female. I had both plants but like yours one of mine died. So if you would have a clue how to determine the gender of the plant then I could send you a cutting.

Thanks Helen ... my husband works in Napier so we can get them there easily enough. We roast them (like spuds and pumpkin etc) and I also make a yummy soup (http://www.janespice.com/recipes/jerusalem-artichoke-soup-with-lemo...). You can also grate them and put them in salads raw - apparently have a nutty taste. I haven't tried that yet, but my parents have and said it was quite nice. Let me know if you want any!

Hi all. does anyone have a male cocktail kiwifruit plant they would take a cutting from for me or even a small plant. i have a very healthy girl looking for a boyfriend coz her last one died. Due to the PSA scare the garden centres seem not to be stocking therm here.

Hi Moggy,

That would be great and so much easier being in the same town. I still have your contact details (just saw your request to be friends too ;-) and will contact you in one of the next days if that is OK.

Hi all

I have LOADS of jeruselum artichoke tubers to give away - FREE to anyone who wants any!! Please take some - please take lots! I grew too many last year, got sick of them part way through winter, and now the ones left in the ground are sprouting madly!

I am in Waipawa, but can arrange for them to be picked up from Napier or Hastings as well :) Am also happy to post them to you!

Email me - donna444@gmail.com

Thanks!

Donna

Silja I am in Otaki, I was trying to give them away at the community expo today (saturday). I still have loads left if you want them.

Hi Kali, I would love some but live in Otaki. Would posting be too difficult? I would be happy to pay for the postage or anything else you would prefer instead.

"I have a bucketful of sprouting jerusalem artichokes begging for a home, any takers?"
