Great idea, not enough going on in mine either. The growth rate has really dropped off with the slightly cooler temps, even in my raised vege bed.It's all looking a bit empty.But there do seem to be less bad bugs around to deal with. Planted some broad beans today.

Rob about chickens- I went to a really inspiring talk that Dee gave the other day, she mentioned that you can have up to 6 chooks in your garden in North Shore City.

Only just got myself into action but will have bounty by the end of winter :) As long as I get time in the patch. I am away nearly every weekend in winter at the snow.
I have a lot of room ie a few hundred sqm on my property in Birkdale so trying to make the most of it. Used to be a market garden and the soil is very good. It is all grass at the moment except for what I have cleared and tilled.

Does anyone know if it is ok to have chickens on the shore in a residential area?

Hello All, Ooooby was featured in this months NZ gardner magazine so I would think there will be a new wave of members soon. We should arrange a get together soon. Any thoughts or Ideas about where and what? Seed sharing is my thought.

Great. I hope the North Shore group gets more members soon and then we can arrange some get togethers. Sounds like you and your neighbours would be great hosts for a sunday afternoon show and tell?
