Sorry Nick, I haven't the energy. What is neighbours day?? I am busy looking after a horse with a broken leg. We just took the cast off last thursday and there are months of rehab to go. She has to remain in a stall and I have to cut lots of grass for her twice a day, plus cleaning her stall which is exhausting after 9 weeks. Hope it all goes well for you.
I am involved in organising an “Amazing Place” event as part of “Neighbours Day” this year in Unsworth Heights. It’s a race type event across stations around the suburb profiling initiatives with activities at each station in order to collect stamps.
What do people think of doing an Ooooby or local gardening stand? The suggestion was made by the event steering group that we ask Westminster School if they would like a Vegie garden and make that the activity the participants do.
The event will be held on the afternoon of the 24th March.
This is a request going out to anyone in the Beach Haven / Birkdale/ Birkenhead area looking for a community garden where they can put down roots and or help develop a master plan.
The large garden plot is located in Beach Haven on church property and has been organically conditioned and composted for 5 years but at present the weeds have taken over. There is potential for so much more.
I am a novice gardener who has limited time but lots of intention! If you live nearby and are interested please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 027-256-3010.
There is also a Food Swap movement afoot on the North Shore- we are at Beach Haven's monthly market and in Takapuna- open to Interested? Contact Adrian Feasey.
oh no. I'm already bad at this. I think I messaged every individual in the group rather than posting via the comment wall. sorry.
I purchased too much oganic wheat and organic pellets for my chooks, not realising I still had some stock. Would someone be interested in buying half or a quater of 25 kg bags from me, at cost? about $2,50 per kg for pellets, $ 1.52 for hens wheat (low grade organic wheat). I live in Birkenhead. I don’t like spending time watering the garden or applying liquid compost. I prefer to just turn the hose on and get on with other gardening. Anybody got any suggestion on how I might be able to incorporate the liquid compost into my irrigation system?
Thank you Nicholas, would love to! Maria (0220851177)
I have some dairy Kefir I can spare. If you are still after it just send me a message.
