    hi roxy, you can buy both wheat and lentils in the sprout section of kings seeds so they would definately grow, also have sprouted lentils from the binninn, but as lynn says you'd need a lot of plants to get a decent meal out of them

    I had given this some thought some time ago, but research led me to think that one would need quite a LOT of crop for it to be worth the seeds you  get, as apparently, with lentils, there are only a 2 or 3 per pod. I don't have the sort of garden space to grow a large crop to get only a few lentils. I'd be interested in seeing if anyone has done it successfully in NZ though.
