The bad news is that Kath Irvine has resigned as KCDC's Green Gardener, so no workshop there. But the good news is that Levin Soil and Health (branch of Organic NZ) have a pipfruit (apples, pears) pruning workshop with Tree Crops Association at 10.30am on 13 June and they have kindly agreed to let us attend. This won't cover stonefruit as it is the wrong time of year.

I understand there is a gold coin donation (bargain!). We are asked to bring our own cups, pruners if we like and park outside the property.   Address is 46 Wi Tako Street, Manakau.

If you are keen to go, please let me know asap so I can sort carpooling etc.

I can't make this time I think as I'm working that day. but I can recommend the workshop, and just getting in touch with this group, they are very keen and knowledgeable.
Jane and I went along to the pruning workshop on Sunday. Aside from the rain and freezing weather, it was excellent! I think we would both recommend it highly. Stewart Dixon from Tree Crops has since emailed me to let us know there is another workshop being held near Levin on 26 June - see newsletter attached for details. We may be interested in joining this organisation as a group so we keep in touch....
