Harvested my gingko on Thursday and now it's dried and stored for tea. Hopefully I will get another crop of leaves at the end of summer.

LOL...I am very definitely hurting today...have done little! Mind you, did manage to plant spring onions and red onions amongst my tomato plants...but that's all! Will be a couple of days before I can do anything well again...it goes like that for me, though.

Slugs and snails seem to be a little more prevalent this year...anyone else feel the same?

My Husband was carefully saving some of them when we cleared weeds today o.O Good job I have some Quash for my lil Brassicas, though they have wilted in the hot weather *cries* I've put soooo much hard work into this little veggie patch, they better come through!

Wow Lyyn and John your crops sound amazing! This is my first planned out attempt :S

I also 'overdo it' with the weeding like today... I'm gonna hurt tomorrow :D

I did the same after our rain Wednesday - squashed well over 50 of them!

Waging war on snails! I went on snail patrol in the glasshouse tonight, as i discovered some damaged seedlings this morning-GRRR! . I took my torch down to the glasshouse after dark and found a family of 5 snails sliding up the glass behind the shelves. I threw them all out onto the grass and I think the chooks will get them tomorrow.
Earlier I sprinkled some Quash under the shelves and on the shelves near the plants.

Well the filling in work DIDN'T wait (I am obviously impatient! lol). The narrow garden near the fence is now completed and planted with Jerusalem artichokes, lettuces and herbs. In the upper level garden, more tomatoes have been planted out (Bloody Butcher, Cocktail Gold, Beefsteak) and in the low garden I have planted more bush beans. That's enough for today. More over the weekend, I'm sure.

I have mainly been harvesting and nurturing new plants as they start producing the summer crop. Tomatos, zucchini, Mulberries, Apricots, Silverbeet, beans, cucumbers, grapes, apples (just setting fruit - still lots of flowers), plums, eggplant. Plenty of broccoli still growing out of the winter crop and also spring onions in abundance. Lotsa photos on my blog
We had some lovely rain this week - saturated everythin - spring was quite dry so glad for this november rain. Today strong seabreezes - these threaten to dry out the garden - glad I got my sugar cane mulch in last week.

Lol, can definatly relate to 'overdoing it'. I always think okay I'm just gonna pop out to the garden to get one or other small task done and end up taking tons more time and using alot more energy than I really should on countless follow on tasks ('oh I'll just put up that one weed oh look another one'). ah well :P

The top garden, which already has flourishing tomato plants in it, needed other 'squares' cultivating (by hand) and compost added. This is all ready for planting tonight when it is cooler. The 3rd bed was weeded and is ready for planting into once compost is added. I am raising (slightly) a further narrow bed along the fence and the edging is now completed. The filling in work will have to wait...over did things today and very very sore. Thanks heaps, ME, for all your help today.

we've had to water the garden more this fortnight than we did the whole summer last year! been a strange year for starting seedlings, weather too cool, then suddenly hot, had to sow many things twice and now they are not ready for this great weather. a bit of drizzle in the forecast will help things come away , especially the weeds!
