Try this very simple recipe, into one bowl put halved bok choi, sliced carrot, zuchinni, beans (any seasonal vege you have) put a large handful of mungbean sprouts on top, the pour oyster sauce, tsp stock powder, tsp sugar, bit of pepper, and some garlic. Put some oil into pan/wok on high heat until it starts to smoke, tip the bowl load into the wok and stir fry.

Sara this is also called bok choy or pak choy, use any recipe for chinese greens or treat it like cabbage. I wrote an earlier recipe for the ooooby box, steaming this and serving with garlic and oyster sauce.

does anyone know what to do with the vegetable named "shanghai" that was in the ooooby box today? google has failed us and we don't know what it is or what to do with it! any recipe suggestions and more info would be fabulous! thanks!

 Auckland Seedsavers present.

Saturday 14th. May. 10am to 1pm  Save your own seeds -

Workshop covering the why and the how of saving and storing seed from your own heirloom vegetables.

Learn out to successfully save your own seeds from your vege patch: which plants will cross with each other, what is a F1 hybrid, how to clean, care for and store your seeds, recommended varieties for growing in our climate. Bring seeds that you have saved if you have any, plus newspaper, envelopes and kitchen sieves of different sizes.

The cost $5 to  members, $10 non-members.

Registration is essential because the classroom will only accommodate about 35 – 40 people and this event will be advertised.

I have a LARGE box of plastic pots (from garden center plants) looking for a second life. 2-3L down to 6cell plastic packs. We are near the waterfront, City and pick up is flexible.

If you want to make a trip out to beautiful Waiheke Island, the Fossil Bay Harvest Faryre is coming up on Sunday April 3 from 10am - 2pm. We have organised some workshops that you may be interested in, attendance by koha. Fossil Bay is close to Oneroa Village, and the Matiatia Ferry Terminal. I have a douglas fir tree ( x christmas tree) which needs to be out of it's pot and set free. They grow big anyone with space can come and take it FREE.

I'm in sandringham.

Also timber, some rimu and bricks for free in fairholme rd royal oak .

I'm looking for a landscape designer with particular interest/experience in how to make the most of small urban spaces (like apartment balconies and courtyards) for growing edibles -  to teach or have input on a workshop for Urban Pantry. Is that you or someone you know?
