I'm sure there are some people round here that can help Vanessa. We have quit e network of people who seed save. If you enjoy taking cutting I have a Golden gage tree that has grown from my neighbours pips. It used to be behind our old shed and I moved it. It could have a branch or two tken for growing.

Greetings from Utiku! I'm a new-comer to ooooby but keen to grow, swap, barter and exchange ideas  :)

We have a couple of acres and try to grow/preserve as much of our own food as time allows.

I'm also working on designing and planting a productive food garden at a local rural school I'm involved with, so any advice or contributions for that would be much appreciated.

I am a Wanganui Artist and Landscape designer, I have a Recycling Shop in Wanganui. My interest is edible plants and permaculture, plus saving seeds and cuttings of Heritage Trees. I am fairly new to planting these, but was impressed with your obvious great knowledge. Great to learn off others that have practical experience.

I have yet to set my Profile (hopeless) The Boat is off my Wanganui Artisans Site on Facebook I have sent you an add

All the best Sharon.  Our seed saving for Christchurch is on track for sending to Community Gardens in September.  Look forward to your post on your return!

The word is spreading faster than we could have imagined last week when this idea germinated...  go Rangitikei!

Excellent idea, I'll spread the word to those I know!

If you've started your seed-saving, please think about putting some seeds aside to help revitalise communtiy and private gardens in Christchurch. We will be spending the next few months saving, gathering and packing up seeds to send south.
