OK I'll see what I can find out.

I'd be really keen on that too. It seems that some people are great at growing some things rather than others, so could also be a good place for exchanging/trading produce with other local backyard gardeners.

I was thinking that if we could get a few people together with a little, it would add up. No idea how to go about it, though, but we could learn!

I would love to do an ooooby stall at the farmers market but I haven't figured out how to grow enough stuff! I would be happy to help "person" the stall though. Might even have a few eggs to sell from time to time if that's allowed?

I wonder if anyone would be interested in having an ooooby stall at the new farmers market?

Hello there!
I'm wondering if anyone here is involved in a community garden in Upper Hutt? I'm thinking of organising an Upper Hutt Community Garden get together so people can share ideas and knowledge. Any thoughts, please contact me lillianfougere@gmail.com
Cheers,
Lillian.

Raised gardens

A comment on the dimensions of raised gardens. I have found that a height of 25cm (10 inches) gives plenty of depth for almost any plants, and is deep enough to stop serious drying out. Since birds are often a problem I make mine the size of half a roll of wire netting. The mesh is 5 metres long (16'5")) by 3 feet wide (910mm). Brads in the top of the boards make a simple clip-on fit.
