Cheese Making

Maybe this should be a group of it's own. I've been experimenting with mozarella, ricotta, tried a farmhouse with limited sucess due to not having a cheese press.

Does anyone in Auckland have a cheese press maybe I could hire it as you only need it for a few days or if I bought one would anyone else want to hire from me? Hire is a loose term could be a trade I love barter!

Tell me your cheese story....

Next up haloumi and panneer

  • Hi Lisa :

I was developing the "Diaden Multi Press ", in 2005, evaluated by Kathren Mowbray, and 2 other cheese makers, to acheive best results. This press can be used to make hard cheese, extract herbal tinctures, or press soft fruit, to extract juice. Broke the ball off my left femur, 2 years til total hip replacement, we are not designed to walk on our hands, so osteo arthritis in both shoulders, then diagnosed with prostate cancer. The urologist told me that if I did not let his partner carve out my prostate, and get radiation burning, I would be dead last year !!

I am not, and expect to die from something else, a lot later. This is not a " Bleat Session !! "

I am anatomically correct, and happily functioning fine. Have sold off the prototype presses, have only parts in hand to make 2 presses, 1 of which we would keep, so do not wish to make any promises that I cannot keep.

    Cheers,

    Dennis,
