Our son Ben starts home schooling in february 2010, I am asking if there is anyone who can give information about home schooling as Im a total newbie to this ...if any one can share their experiences and planning for home schooling it would be much appreciated... we will have one son home schooled and one in main stream education system...

I'm sure there's a homeschool group you can join where you are. I belong to the Christchurch one (CHE - Canterbury Home Educators). CHE runs information evenings for new homeschool parents, where you meet a few parents who are already homeschooling and you can ask questions and things...
when he turns 16 he can do correspondence for free, (if he wants to get NCEA), you should keep the exemption through until he is 18 even if he does this so you keep getting the supervisor payment.
Ben is 14 and yes as far as i know he has got exemption thaks for the ehads up on groups
