Hello Buffie
I have not read here for a bit, just wanted to say same as Litsa.. There is an Ooooby Swap Stall at the Waitakere New Energy Fare on the 3 sunday of each month. Usually we bring a variety of plants for Swap... Someimtes we have even had Worm Tea, pottery... Look forward to any other ideas to get people involved.

Hey guys...we have an OOOOOby Swap Stall going at the New Energy Fare, on the 19th of September in Titirangi...any ideas about how to best use it are most welcome....for more info about what's on, check OOOOby events.

Hope some of you can make it :)))

That sounds like a good idea.
I was also thinking about a oooby stall at the Ranui faarmers market. Is any one keen. I can talk to Roseanne the organiser this Friday to see if its possible.
My main push is to get more people gardening at the community garden and thought this would be a good way to get it out there as well as make a little bit of money to help the garden pay for its self.

Lol yeah not surprising. Winter is a pretty quiet time for gardening, mostly. Everything will liven up once spring hits and the new planting season begins. :)

Hi Buffie and Claire. We have been pretty quiet over the last few months. When we first started we were regularly going to each others homes and sharing ideas. Hopefully it will start up again when the weather warms up and we all feel more enthusiastic.

Hi :) I recently moved out west, first time living in Auckland (so far so good) and have been out here just over a couple of months.
Was a member of the Hamilton group but thought I'd join another more local group as well. :) Figured it'd be good, get some local growing advice. I'm living on a big section at the moment so I can't wait to start putting in garden beds!

Thanks for that Fiona and thank you Glen for the welcome

Hi Buffie, just thought I'd make you and others aware of the Resource List we compiled last year, if you click View All above in the Start Discussion box, go to Waitakere Resource List, you will find some sources for materials that may be useful. For raised garden beds, see Pg 2, Dec 14 posting about untreated wood lengths available from Taupaki.
