Hi all. For anyone that is interested in a community gardens, there is one called MEG ( millbrook edible gardens ) in Henderson. This is growing so new people are more than welcome. It is located on Millbrook Rd which is only a couple of minuites drive from the mall.

Hi Brooke,
Congratulations on your efforts!
Have you thought about Comfrey as a good plant food?
There are horses (pony club?) grazing by the Te Atatu Peninsula motorway.
Also have seen horse manure at the top of Don Buck Road by the Westgate roundabout.

Do any of you know good sources for manure? Horse, chicken or sheep. It needs to be from animals that are antibiotics free.

Hi guys i only started my veggie patch in November last year and it has come on leaps and bounds my aim is to go totally organic but am working towards getting rid of the remnants of fertilizer packs and using organic techniques to make my garden sustainable am keen to grow as much food as i possibly can in my acre site. I would love to come and see the community gardens and get some ideas to make my garden more productive When would you be able to give me the tour?

hello. I have just seen this website and think its a great idea. Brooke it sounds like you have a great job. I don't have room to offer in my garden but am willing to share what i have figured out. my son built me a raised garden and its amazing how much has fitted into it. We had had heaps to eat and share this summer.

Hello. My name is Brooke Walker and I am a Community Gardens Facilitator at EcoMatters Environment Trust. Part of my job is networking and helping gardeners find the resources, information, and help they need. This applies to community gardens and people gardening in their own yard. I am hoping Ooooby can help connect people within neighbourhoods. Lots of people want to learn about gardening and lots more people want to share their gardening lifestyle with others. Please call me at 826 4276 if you need more information or just to chat.
