Thanks Melanie. Didn't really need anything. Just thought it would be great to find a group of passionate vege gardeners. Have just about worn out the patience of my family who don't share the passion quite as much.

Not very, it seems; shame really.  Was there something you needed?  Happy to help if able :)

I see the entries on this page are from 2011. Is this group still active?

Thanks Helen.

I am after quite a bit of chook manure, got a couple of compost heaps in the making. I would happily take yours if you want to get rid of it. Hadn't thought of the growers market, good thinking.

Hi Maree, I have some chook poo each week you are welcome to. Its not strictly organic though. They are fed pellets that are not organic.

Have you tried asking the sellers at the growers market? Maybe the guys who have chickens out at Sandy Bay run organic?

Hi everyone.

I have been busy making compost heaps, and I am trying to get some organic chook poo.  Does anyone know of an organic poultry farm in the district?

Hi there,

We have just moved to Northland, so Im busy planting my new veggie garden. Loving the weather!

Does anyone know where I can get fresh raw (unpasteurised) milk?  Cows or goats milk. Preferably from the farm gate. We live in Tutukaka/Matapouri, but work in Whangarei, so anywhere around those areas or in between. We have just moved from the far south, so looking forward to the extended summer weather :-)

I have free-range eggs to swap for any kind of berries.

I have some surplus heirloom tomato seedlings available. Varieties are Bandywine, Black Krim and Purple Russian. In need of a good home.

Hi Karen,
Did you know that Whangarei has their own trading site on their website? If you look at the groups: http://whangareitt.ning.com/groups you will find the Trading Post of the Whangarei Food Group!
