gidday sam there are quite a few pizza ovens in New Brighton many at rental properties, We have lots of absentee landlords who love them and then decided to sell the property due to the enhancement. haha

building little ones is my suggestion they don't need to be big as they take loads to heat and smaller ones get used more often.

If you want to move it when you leave build it on a wheeled platform, a trailer is great if you do decided to make some money in summer going around festivals but other wise keep it small as they say small is beautiful

"problem is I'm in a rental house and have no idea how I'd move it if i did!"

I ran across some anarchists at an anti-globalisation demo in Italy who built their ovens on trailers and roamed about cooking free pizza at events.

Kia Ora Ned... this is a very delayed reply to your question... a quote from the link posted below... "Build your foundation. Ideally the mud oven will be built on some kind of stable platform, recycled bricks is good or an old tree stump."
I haven't made one myself so that's all i can contribute :)
