Hiya Leah,
Yeah just bring what is easy. We have lots of gloves if you want to leave yours @ home. We seem to be short of wheelbarrows if you live within pushing distance & not too hard with kids...we will discuss the reality of having a bee in Jan/feb this arvo...Thanks for sharing with other families, the more the merrier. K
Thanks for the welcome, Kirsten and the update - we have lots of end-of-year things on but would love to meet some neighbours and check out the gardens so we may make it between other things - what should we bring - just basic tools and gloves and a water bottle? I know another family moving into the area so I will flick them a link too : )
Hiya Leah,
Great to hear newbies are interested in the orchard. We are planning a working bee this Sat afternoon,8th Dec 2-4pm. We are planning to make compost heaps & do some weeding. Lots of families turn up so feel free to bring your kids along too... Hopefully we will see you there.
Hi there - my three girls and I have just moved to the area and very happy to know this is going on in our neighbourhood. : )
Organised another working bee, we never seem to get everything done...
November 3, 2-4pm, bring tools, kids, etc. last one was great, good turnout & heaps of enthusiasm. See you there
Hiya,
Orchard working Bee on Sat 22nd September, 2-4pm, to get the orchard ready for spring. A wee bit of a tidy up & finish those mulch bags for round the trees. Bring your boots & kids. Tony will be there with the community tools from Project Twin Streams. Hopefully see some of you there.
Hi Carla, it would be great to see you down at the orchard. Will be having another working bee in a few weeks. Real keen for local community to take a role in the orchard. Is there anything you would particularly like to do? You can email me if you like: tony@ecomatters.org.nz
Hi Tony. We live up Rosier Road and we've been down a couple of times to see how the orchard is going (and pick a few sprigs of Rosemary). I'd be keen to help out and involve my children too.
Kia ora,
I have just discovered the most wonderful website dedicated to the art of scything. http://www.scytheconnection.com/
We will begin a scything mission in the orchard in a couple of weeks. If you would like to come and learn or join in please get in touch.
Hi Romain and Lucy,
I am just back from holiday this week. Been scything in the orchard a couple of times. Weather has been ideal scything conditions. Would love to do scything mission with you guys. I tend to go there in the morning about 8 am till 9 or 10 but happy to make another time. Mornings are good as grass is wet and easier to cut.
Tony
