A collaboration between community, Project Twin Streams Glen Eden and Auckland Council, this wee enclave beside the Waikumete Stream was planted with fruit trees in 2009/10. If you are excited about local food production, community and sustainable land practices this little gem needs you!

The whole orchard [0.33 hectares] is looked sfter using organic methods. The grass areas are cut using scythes. If you have never seen or used a scythe before, they are magnificently efficient to use. Quiet, rythmic, eco-friendly and mediative to use, with a bit of practice scything is a great way to exercise and keep the orchard meadow cut.

Hi there

Let us know when you are doing another working bee.  We live up the road :)  Hubby very interested in learning to scythe.

Yes it is good to be here. i have admire Ooooby for a while. Hope to do a bee in the orchard before xmas, although time is getting away a bit.
