Saffron corms

first planted in 2014, had to lift all the corms to try to get rid of the couch that had started creeping into the bed

Each corm had produced up to 5 or 6 daughter corms/pips. In the cluster at the top, the dark area is the original corm that has shrivelled up and died. When separating the corms, I discarded the remains of the original mother corm
