Assorted softneck garlic Dec2011

three varieties here; the bulbs with the vivid purple wrappers were a gift from Kali, the one's in the middle from Lee's Queenstown garden and the ones on the right with light purple streaks came from the local farmers' market.
All are into their second season being grown in my patch at the community garden.
Still some softneck all the hardneck varieties yet to be harvested in the next couple of weeks.

the prettiest are the purple bulbs you gave me :)) and very tasty too.

Can you spot the all rounds - two in your bunch @ midnite & 20 to; 11 o'clock in the middle bunch; top & bottom right & third in from the right. I'm going to save them for replanting. It'll be interesting to see what size the resulting bulbs will be, some of the rounds are massive, especially the purple one on the extreme left - will the bulbs be correspondingly huge?

Read that you get rounds if the garlic's stressed by lack of water but that can't be the case, they all got watered the same so may have been a result of being transplanted. who knows, they still taste good :)
