Hey chez ken macrocarpa is fairly cheap and is highly durable stands up to the weather well. this person used clear grade macrocarpa which is definitely nicer without the knots it's up to you whether you want to pay the extra for it.

Here is a contact for Landscape Grade Untreated Macrocarpa 200mm wide x 100mm thickness with 2 clear faces.  Ideal for raised garden surrounds $7.50 per metre plus small charge for lengths cut to size.

In response to Chez Ken, treated timber would last longest, but with it come chemicals that leach into the soil, so untreated is preferable, with macrocarpa a good option.

Look great, how long will they last before they need to be replaced?  Working on putting some raised beds in myself so trying to work out the best wood to use for price vs longevity.
