Nice backyard! Have a look on the web for information on SPIN backyard farming. They provide good advice on laying out garden beds and what to plant. Their book is called: SPIN Farming - check your local library catalogue or ask your library to request a copy - a really productive approach and worth trying! (start by looking at how the sunlight falls during the day, direction of the wind etc)

No I haven't got any plans yet. All I know is I'd like to have a big vege garden and something that looks good at the same time.

I just dont know where to start.

We have a large grass area across the road, so there is no real need for grass out the back.

My daughter (8) would also like a pacth to grow some stuff herself as well.

If anyone has suggestions or could help me with a plan, Id love it.

The only thing id like to keep is in the top left corner of that pic is a feijoa tree. Its small, but I want to keep it.
