Hello Megan,

The solar food dryer works with the sun heating up the heat collector in the front. A hole in the back of the dryer box creates a chimney effect drawing air up from the hole in the front. This airflow of hot air which get up to 45degrees C on a sunny day is enough to dry small tomatoes halves in about 3days and courgettes slices in 2days. I am intending to add a longer comment to the photo about solar food drying, but it might be next week before I post that.
