"Has anyone grown blackstrawberries in Canterbury with any success. A friend of mine has been given 6 plants which have been raised in a glasshouse and we are wondering if outside Canterbury conditions are suitable for them."

The ChCh Portly Bear Garden raider

This last month has been one of settling down for my girls and myself.Since the earthquakes in Feburary we have moved house owing to the fact our first home split in two.Since then my partner left (he has post quake disorders and decided he didnt need us or ChCh), and I have I have moved to a new house which was later damaged in the June quake.Since then like so many people in ChCh I have sat waiting for CERA or the insurance company to come and help us. Most of my gardens are in raised Beds, and all that is in raised beds are vegetables and herbs.
The other garden plots that I have are mainly for Lavenders, Rosemary and flowers. I have started growing Roses but that is a new project.
