Mariana said… Kia ora Donna, I just mentioned your helpful blog post 'Seed Saving for Starters' in a post on seed saving. If you know of any other seed saving resources for beginners could you please pass them on to me? Cheers, Mariana
Kali said… as for jerusalem artichokes, yes i have a weedy patch of them due to be dug up, so far I have tried them par-boiled and then sliced and fried in butter with some chopped bacon, and sprinkled with parsley, that was tasty.
Kali said… Yes still saving lots of seed, sent packages last week to both southern seed exchange in Chch and South Coast Enviro Centre in Riverton, about 40 or more different varieties lol. I love it. If you look in my pictures you will see red kuri pumpkin, the kaanga maa and red/yellow corn I also got from you way back when. The red/yellow corn turned out to be black/red and yellow! I eat it ground as porridge, pity my kids don't like it , they object to the texture I think. looks good hanging in the kitchen.
Kali said… Hi Donna, we swapped seeds some years ago, i'm still growing and saving seed from the odells lettuce you gave me :) welcome to Ooooby, I'm sure you will have lots of knowledge to share.
