Plums! We are inundated with them at the moment. I am trying to figure out what to do with them all. I'm not sure if I'm up to anything too fiddly. Any ideas?
Hamilton has been very muggy for the past few days. I seem to remember my courgettes not liking the humidity a few years ago. Does anyone have any tips for protecting plants from the swampy weather?

Chickens will help you sort those weeds out. Mine have been decimating the wandering willy and grass. They would probably have a go at dock, I'm not sure about nettle.

The chickens got into the cabbages this year so I haven't made any. Great to be reminded and I'll definitely be

- Mostly just herbs at the moment. We have a crazy garden with lots of trees and not much space and sunlight for vegetables. We are going to make some raised garden beds soon and get into permaculture. We're just waiting for some fine weather.

Competition Capsicum - the first month
The Competition Capsicum was planted out about a month ago, so it's probably time for an update. I was overjoyed when the first flower opened, but somewhat dismayed when it fell off the following day, to be followed by the bit of stalk that connects the flower to the main stalk some days later (not sure on the correct anatomical terms for capsicum, or vegetable plants in general).I fear I may have been somewhat overzealous in nurturing it, perhaps I overfed it.
