Hello! I'm from Tokoroa and thought you might like to look at what the Tokoroa Community Garden is harvesting at the moment. we have a page on Facebook if you can get into it. Our climate is much harsher than yours...we're 500 feet above Putaruru. We have any number of of veg growing for winter sale, as much under frost cloth as we can afford. We're still planting winter lettuce and spinach (from Italian Seeds - Franchi), pakchoy from Kings. Have planted hundreds of four types of onions, and leeks under cover in containers for spring planting, will be planting shallots and garlic this month along with staggered plantings of broad beans - the first ones are up. Kali said… elephant garlic is sometimes listed on trademe, I would offer you some but my son grew the crop to sell and will be listing on trademe himself shortly. He got really 'good' prices last year .
