Becoming More Self Reliant - The Dream

A lot of people have the dream of a few acres of land and self reliance (as opposed to self -sufficiency, which is a myth!). This group is to draw together the experiences of those living the dream and sharing the lessons learned on the way with those still working towards living on the land.See More

Thank you so much.  They just arrived!  Lovely! I'm going to take them down to the community garden and plant them in one of the wooden sided beds we have on the roadways. We have already planted nearly all the garlic we have - a 7m square bed full with some shallots as well. I must remember to put a photo of your chillis on Fb.  They are the worse for wear being hit by the frost even in the tunnel house.

Thank you again, lovely lady!

hello Lorraine, planted mine yesterday, a combination of this years' bulbils, rounds and hard & softneck cloves. A fellow community gardener, Ben was also out planting his garlic and when he asked me which varieties I had, I told him that I only know them by the name of person who gave them to me - Kali's; Michel's; Annette's; Lee's; Richard's & Shaun's :) Which reminds me, I 'd better post the last of my bulbils to Robyn.

hello Lorraine, if you have the space and patience am happy to send you some hardneck garlic bulbils (when I find the box that they're packed in). It will take two or three seasons for them to grow into bulbs - the first year you'll only get rounds which need to be replanted the following season to yield small bulbs. PM me your address if you're interested.
