Where to get Californian Rabbits in Northland??

Hi All,

I've been raising rabbits for meat for some years now with great success. I raise them entirely on natural homegrown greens that I pick for them, and they do as well if not better than rabbits raised on pellets ... in fact my primary problem is keeping them from getting too fat!

My current breeding stock of rabbits (flemish) is getting a bit old and a bit inbred, and I'm looking  to replace a couple and try a new breed. I don't really like NZ whites and I've always…

Avocados and polination

We have two avocado trees, both hass seedlings. Being from seeds out of hass you would think they would be both the same "type". Of course you need trees of both type A and B to get cross pollination. However we figured maybe there would be a bit of crossover in the middle of the day and we might get a few fruit.

However our biggest tree is smothered in fruit. It has a full crop, there is probably more than 50 fruit there. Very odd considering that we have no type… Continue

Hello Stacey, just came across your entry about tanning rabbit skins. Thanks for the comprehensive write up:) toying with the idea myself but see it's pretty time consuming. Takes me kong enough just skinning one. Be good to see some photos of the finished skins. How have you used them?
