Where to get Californian Rabbits in Northland??

Hi All,I've been raising rabbits for meat for some years now with great success. I raise them entirely on natural homegrown greens that I pick for them, and they do as well if not better than rabbits raised on pellets ... in fact my primary problem is keeping them from getting too fat!My current breeding stock of rabbits (flemish) is getting a bit old and a bit inbred, and I'm looking  to replace a couple and try a new breed. I don't really like NZ whites and I've always wanted some Cali's but…See More

Avocados and polination

We have two avocado trees, both hass seedlings. Being from seeds out of hass you would think they would be both the same "type". Of course you need trees of both type A and B to get cross pollination. However we figured maybe there would be a bit of crossover in the middle of the day and we might get a few fruit. However our biggest tree is smothered in fruit. It has a full crop, there is probably more than 50 fruit there. Very odd considering that we have no type B.Anyone know how this…See More

Saving Hybrid Carrot Seed

We have a few problems here saving carrot seed as we are over run with queen anne's lace and it crosses, but there are a few varieties of carrots that I would like to get seed from, and I have decided to try isolating some heads in bags and hand pollinating to get our own seed. Most of the varieties I'm interested in are heirloom, however there is one "F1" hybrid type that looks good called Purple Haze. (Leastways both places here selling it call it hybrid, although there are a few sites other…See More
