"Oh tomatoes are the enemy! The sun is shining today so i'm going to try and prop them back up nicely, they haven't snapped completely, I still have some faith! I can't wait until I can preserve heaps of stuff. I despise raw…"

"Same happened to me with my tomatoes, I was so proud of myself as I did stake them but they grew fast and two plants snapped in half. Keep going with the gardening and preserving, I love making my own stuff, and then give it away to friends…"

New Year and jam!

So it seems like the nasty weather won't go away! My tomatoes finally flowered yesterday, only get to get knocked over by the wind today! They don't look so beautiful anymore, but hopefully they'll still get some fruit going on some day soon!My poor zucchini had its two flowers I was so proud of knocked off too! It has a few more coming up, but i'm starting to feel like giving up as I may be the only person who cannot produce a huge crop of the things! On a good note, I made a banana cake and…See More

Christmas and New Year planting!

So I finally signed up to Ooooby, finally managed to get some gardening done, and thought i'd finally post a blog on here instead of just hunting through everyone else's posts and absorbing too much information.Today my zucchini finally threw up two nice yellow flowers, so hopefully it will catch up with the masses of flowers on my neglected cucumber plant. If i'm lucky my nice lush green cherry tomatoes will flower. The plants are looking somewhat impressive now, but they're really no good…See More

I try to grow everything I like to eat (so my garden is cauliflower free). I am a huge fan of fresh vegetables and not a terrible cook (it's my job), and I refuse to eat supermarket "fresh" vegetables so I have no choice but to spend a couple of hours a day out in the fresh air tending to my garden, it's only tiny, and reasonably messy but rather productive and I can't go a day without being distracted from anything else I have to get done and going out to weed, plant, or sow more seeds.
