Not quite. Page views up about 60%. Unique visitors not quite doubled. Daily visits up only slightly.

ooooby was at 700 odd members then. The counter will be at 1400 soon. Did the traffic nearly double too?

That's a great idea Kylie. It would be great coming from a member like yourself. Would you be up for sending them an email? Maybe something about why you joined ooooby?

I get a free weekly e-newsletter from nzGardener magazine, it has over 16,000 subscribers. It is a big commercial operation but couldn't hurt to email them and see if they want to mention ooooby. They do mention different community based garden activities / groups etc each week. getgrowing@nzgardener.co.nz

Thanks Robbie. What ever you can do to help this along is greatly appreciated. I'll check out the digg this button.

Digg would probably be the most effective one as it is so big that it often causes sites with limited resources to go down due to the flood of traffic. To get anywhere on digg someone needs to post a link to an article, and then you need a few hundred people to vote it up. If you get enough votes it will get featured on the main page. articles in the form of a 'top xx tips' tend to be popular, but it's nice if you can rely on your own network to vote on it, as votes out of the blue don't happen a lot while the link is still buried somewhere in the back pages of digg. Becoming a member of digg and placing a 'digg this' button next to articles could help in this respect.

I put a bookmark to Ooooby on stumbleupon and del.icio.us. They both also have a 'bookmark this' graphic which you could put next to articles. Looks like 44 other people have linked Ooooby on del.icio.us, and to get into the 'most popular' pages there you'd need more than 120+ people linking within a relatively short time period.

I'm not active on the garden sites, but if somebody is, they could mention oooby in the forums. The more people put the Ooooby url in their signature in any forum, the more likely it is that someone will click on it :)

Robbie, any chance you could do something to get ooooby noticed by the sites you mentioned? What would be the easiest way to do it?

other social network groups on facebook etc are a great way to spread the word as well.

Yep. That last spike was treehugger. Thanks for the tips. I'll chase them up.
