So true. I trust we will choose the board of trustees well.

Just been speaking to Mahboba. She is staying here at 'Bulwarra' at the moment. She is presently negotiating to buy a very large piece of land in Afghanistan. Has spoken to the community in that area and, if the sale goes through, they are all primed up to permaculture the whole lot, with a view to feeding all the children in the four orphanages that Mahboba has set up. Mahboba believes that in five years the orphanages will be self sufficient. Her only heartache is that 'Mahboba's Promise' is now enmeshed in a committee which doesn't have the willingness to cut through red tape and work quickly. Even though Mahboba raised the $40,000 single handedly (which is how much the land is), the committee won't release it without dotting i's and crossing t's. Mahboba is despairing, because she fears the landowner will sell it to someone else in the meantime. She said the land is perfect for their needs. I guess there are some situations that should be spared the agonising of a committee. Hope Ooooby doesn't ever get bogged down by such things!

You know you can count me in! I reckon it would transform society to have healthy fresh living food so abundantly available. It gently reframes the phrase "hand to mouth" : -)

I'm with you on that one mum. Anyone else want to grow food forests?
