Well, I've heard several theories about this. 1. It lets the air circulate better. 2. It keeps the plant out of reach of the ground and keeps the fungal spores away. Me, I just like to be different - and it makes a good talking point
Thanks for looking.
Just looked at you r photos. You all seem to be having so much fun - and in the rain? What was the end result? What are you going to do next?
What a bummer. l had a good group - about 16 people and 3 lots brought their children. l am really enjoying the interaction with other locals. 2 of the couples that came aren't even part of Ooooby they had heard through friends of friends so that was good. The more people that become involved the more community is going to come together l am starting to make some real connections. lf you want to pop in some time and see the photos l took in New Plymouth you are more than welcome. l'm usually home by 4.30pm. Therese has my address and phone number.
Sounds like a good idea. l'm hosting another home visit at my place this Thursday night 1st October. lf you are able to come we could discuss it there as well. Hopefully there will be lots of seeds, etc to swap.
Hi Brooke, we were actually outside at the Fare this time, just by the entrance to the hall. Next fare is October 18, I won't be able to make this one as will be in Rotorua this weekend. I'm sure Lorraine, Helen Doherty and others might be happy to go on the roster though. Will catch up about that closer to the time.
Thanks for the offer of manning the stall, that would be great for some of the time next month. The Farmers Market was very successful on Sunday, and I think this will continue to attract a lot of people. Daniel made an Ooooby banner which we had on our outside table, people really like the swapping concept, they just need to get in the habit of bringing things along, I think it will gain momentum. Will send you the copy from the Tatler article.
Hi Brooke. Interesting that you have asked for an ooooby email. The short answer is that yes we can provide an ooooby email. It would be something like email@example.com . It would operate as a gmail account. The only thing however is that I can't guarantee that it would remain free for the long term or that I could even keep it available for the long term. You see I have the ability to provide 200 ooooby emails, but then we would have to pay google for more than 200. So once the total email accounts exceeded 200 I would need to charge everyone a small amount every year if they wanted to keep their account open. Also, it may be that at some point down the track I would need to change the email to ooooby.net or something else which would mean you may lose access to all your emails prior to that date. So having said that, if you're willing to be a guinea pig with the understanding that it may not last for long or be free for long, then I would be happy to provide one for you to see how it goes.
