Well, things happen for a reason, a good reason. We are learning so much more now and we are safe and happy. Good things are coming, we are sure of it.
Very positive!
Thank you

Thanks again, Hester. I'll probably see you at the meeting as I live at the same address as Bren and Meredith. Get to show you my make-shift garden . . . . !
Thanks Hester. I think you met my neighbours, Bren and Meredith. I heard ooooby is your brainchild too. My awe an appreciation are growing. And I'm putting people onto it - I think it's a global movement or something . . . .
And didn't someone say something about the meek inheriting the Earth. He might have added, and have a whole lot of fun doing it!
Hi Hester, yes I would love to be at the group gathering and hopefully will be able to make it. Been busy potting up seeds last couple of days. We don't have a glass house but Brendan (husband) has made me some mini ones with plywood sides (about a foot high) and old tinted windows from the recycle centre hinged on top. Must remember to prop them open on warm days, I'm trying to germinate seeds not make vegetable stew!

I'm glad about the yakon. My neighbour gave us a pasta dish with green beans ham/bacon, chopped up yakon and broccoli. Sprinkled with cheese and a bit of olive oil. The yakon was cooked with the other things. Yum!
About chooks - It was their fault I slipped over. They had got out and I was looking at them and not where I was going. The family got shot of them quickly. They are now out on a farm with others. I'm a bit sad about that but at least I don't have to get out and feed them in the wet. We've had enough rain, don't you think??
Yes would like to share seeds, we should visit one another. I know how you feel about chooks, I love them too. We live on a type of community here but are all separate. I have plenty of room to garden but have to contend with strong winds. We have a wall of wind cloth which does help. We are on a 15 acre property and the owner has 70 free range chooks so we can get our eggs from him which is great. My phone number is 879-8658 if you want to visit.
I sympathize, have started over many times myself! On the plus side there will be plenty of chook poo around. I will be attempting to grow some exotic melons this year. One is Charentais which has dark orange, fragrant and sweet flesh and looks like a rock melon and the other is Jenny Lind which is a small green melon with sweet green flesh. Also going to grow some Wee Be Little bush pumpkins which are the size of soft balls. These are all from Kings Seeds. I love a challenge, hope it works out!
Hi Hester, thank you for the welcome. Wow, your garden is amazing!

Hi Hester - wot are you doing at home?! the chooks look good. I have been absent for so long on the Ooooby front, but I have uploaded one pic today of the new patch. The 17th may prove a problem as we are meeting/greeting overseas folk with family as far as I know. If this should change, I will clamber in my car and come along, but will not know for some weeks yet just what the arrangements are for us.

Wonderful! I grew up in Napier so I know your area well. Lovely soil, compared to the clay I have at my house :-)
Thanks heaps Hester, I'll definately look into that website.
Cheers, Jane.
