Hi Nikki, I have just checked oooby page and see you were after some chilli seedlings. You may have already got these, but if not I am interested in trading some worm tea for some chilli seedlings. I made a bit of a faux pas with my labeling and have both chilli and sweet red capsicum seedlings. Pretty sure I know which is which but to be on the safe side I could swap you some of both. :-). I am in Sunnyvale.

hi Nikki welcome to the waitakere page. well done on the worm farm. they do keep on going as long as you feed them! keep an eye on the Waitakere page as we often organise get togethers. I have a curry plant too, just pop it in stews etc that i want a slight curryish flavour. actually i keep forgetting about it as it is way out the back of the house!

Nature's Way Pyrethrum is a low toxic insecticide for whitefly. For cabbage white butterfly, I try to keep it simple and make a garlic spray by boiling a large garlic clump in a lge pot for half an hour, then mash it and strain thru an old stocking, then pour into a squeezy bottle. If you add a teaspoon of oil this will help it to stick to the leaves. Do this when the leaves are dry, and clear weather ahead.

A friend cautioned me about the use of tyres, he was worried about heavy metals. Not sure of how big a worry it is, but our son gave me about 9 tyres and I have been growing potatoes, mint , parsley and sweet peas with good success. Plants probably love the warmth and good drainage.
Had thought about a tyre worm farm and may still do it. We are pulling out the old bath later this year and if It is located on a slope, under the guava tree with the plug hole draining into a bucket, should be a thing of beauty!
