Tell us about your garden and what you're growing: Starting small with tomatoes, runner beans, aubergines, peppers and courgettes.

Just to introduce ourselves. My wife and young daughter have just emigrated from the UK (9th Sept 2012) so still finding our feet a little. I am an experienced CAD designer who designs lakes and water features / gardens back in the UK and I am happy offer advice on pond/ lake design. I am also a keen cheese and sausage maker with a good success rate so looking for raw milk. Currently setting up a backyard hydroponics system to grow lettuce and tomatoes to start. We used to love foraging in the UK and interested in the local native edibles. My wife has done a bit of willow weaving and keen to find a source of willow over here. As a family we love to make and build things ourselves and are dreaming of the lifestyle block that gives us that flexibility to be self-sufficient. I was also a code for sustainable home assessor http://en.wikipedia.or/wiki/Code_for_Sustainable_Homes for a time back in the UK.
