Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We are a flat of students who won an eco-flat competition last year and are making big plans to take out top prize once again! Personally I'm very into designing and building things with free materials, a passion which I service by way of what I like to call "industrial foraging" - using waste materials from companies is an easy way to get free wood and lots more. So for the competition last year we built a free glasshouse, expanded the garden, saved money with bulk food and wooly jerseys and learned to preserve food and brew cider (clearly a skill of utmost importance). Our current/future projects include building a solar water pre-heater (heat water from council before it enters our cylinder), making a beehive in an old piano and expanding the glasshouse to head-height.
